It requires us to be aware that we are as much a part of the earth as anything else and that the earth and its nature are part of everything. The earth asks us to be content with what it is, to be content with ourselves, and to know that everything will change and grow at the pace and in the way it needs to. To not push it beyond its limits, to not transform nature into something that we can no longer even call natural. The earth asks us as human beings to keep it clean and healthy, to keep ourselves clean and healthy.
